Unfortunately most people are ill informed about vegan cats, including most veterinarians.Wild cats are in fact obligate carnivores. However, in domesticating the house cat and bringing it into our homes we have effectively removed the cat from its natural prey of mice, insects, birds, lizards, and other small creatures. During the past 100 years or so, as the human food industry was searching for a way to salvage and use all the waste materials from its processing lines, it came upon a wonderful solution. Lets boil it all up and dry it out and add it to the food we make for cats and dogs. As a result, the vast majority of commercial pet foods contain what are euphemistically referred to as the four D's, dead, dying, disabled, and diseased animals, along with other quite undesirable materials. Quite frankly, if you are feeding this junk to your pets, you are effectively poisoning them. We are seeing diseases in pets today that we have never seen before because of the wide variety of contaminated ingredients that are finding their way into the food we feed our companion animals. I'm not sure if my vet is losing money or what but I can buy a 16.5 lb bag of SO33 at my vet for $47. The price they're charging here is outrageous...

Our 1yr old Savannah loves this canned food. We didn't even have to ease him into it. The first bowl was licked clean...juice and all. We alternate the Salmon with the Chicken for a little variety.We, as owners, also like this food in general. They offer real shredded chicken and not some mush or pre-formed mystery bits. I found an analysis online that showed this brand to be very close, nutritionally, to what a wild cat would have in nature. It has much more protein and almost half the fat and carbs than most staple brands. They also add the necessary vitamins and compounds that keep your cat feeling and looking good.As others have noted, this stuff looks good enough for humans to eat, so I have no problem feeding it to the cat. It is also easy on your wallet when you buy it in bulk.

I bought this cat food because of the wonderful low price and I enjoy they catchy jingle from the commercials. My cats did eat this food, but after reading the ingredients I completely regret purchasing it and feel just awful for feeding it to my cats. The first three ingredients (which indicates the most prevalent ingredients) are chicken by-product meal, corn gluten meal, and ground yellow corn. How disgusting is that?! The main ingredient is a corn filler. One thing my vet told me a while back that I never forgot: "When you eat corn, what comes out of the other end? The same thing happens with cats and dogs." Basically, corn cannot be fully digested, it is just a filler and causes pets to actually eat more to feel full, poop out more (more for us to clean in the litter box), and retain less nutrients. The only meat in Meow Mix at all is a by-product, its not even a real meat! By-products are the stuff leftover once all the actual meat is harvested. We're talking beaks, chicken feet, eyeballs, even chicken poop! I would not recommend this product to anyone, for any reason, ever. It is an absolutely awful cat food. I suppose you get what you pay for. I recommend to stay far away from Meow Mix, as it is simply a very low quality food. Even though the price is quite inexpensive, your cat will actually eat more than if you paid for a better quality food, because they will never feel full. This is my cats favorite of all the Tiki Cat flavors. I've tried the variety pack, and they really dislike the sardines. They eat around the prawns in the Tuna with Prawns. I splurged on the Salmon, and they turn their noses up at it, eating it if it is their only option. Same with the chicken and the ones with rice or consomme (noodles). To vary their diet, I've now discovered Natural Balance Venison Green Pea Formula Cat Food (Pack of 24 6-Ounce Cans), which they also like.I have one shorthair/Siamese mix and one Himalayan.

My cat is on this special diet. Works great...she has been UTI free for over a year. But I can purchase this from my vet for about $47 for a 17.6 pound bag. So before purchasing here shop around...I have also found other websites that sale for $60 or less.

This is a great product. My cat loves it but I can buy a 6.6 lb bag from my pet store for $20. Really $87.00?

My vet recommended a Lysine powder to help keep our cats from getting respiratory illnesses so often, and this product definitely does just that. Our cats both have feline herpesvirus-1 (FHV), and after using this powder daily with a little bit of wet food, they went from getting sick every other month, to getting sick maybe once a year. I bought quite a few of the tuna varieties plus the 72 can packs of chicken and of salmon and wanted another kind of chicken to alternate for my cats dinners. I bought one case of this to make sure my pickiest cat would like the egg in it and gave it to them last night. It was a big hit so I'm back to take advantage of this sale. Kind of funny that the real sale is with the single case other than the larger amount, but as long as I get the best deal I don't care. (6 single cases which is equal to the 72 pack is only 85.68 versus the 91.87 for the 6 pack) My cats are loving this food and I intend to keep buying it for them.

My cat Tigger eats this stuff up fast. Then he asks for more so I figure it must be good. This is not your typical cat food!
